NetSuite

NetSuite is business software for growing and mid-sized companies and is the world's most popular on-demand, integrated, CRM/ERP solution. They offer an entire package including order management, e-commerce and back-office functionality. The package is more integrated and has many more features than Miva's offerings (see below), but is more time-consuming to set up.

Working with your NetSuite administrator we can update the look and feel or your internal NetSuite site. Alternately, we can modify your existing web site to use just the back-end of NetSuite for shopping cart, inventory control and customer service.

Miva

Miva Corporation has a suite of e-commerce tools. Their shopping cart, Miva Merchant, is widely used on the Internet and very popular with 3rd-party developers. Miva Merchant has a solid reputation and for small to mid-sized businesses it is the perfect fit. Miva Mailer integrates with the shopping cart for email campaigns and newsletters. Miva Synchro for syncing order and customer data with certain versions of QuickBooks

We have used Miva over the years because it is easy to set up, has many 3rd-party extensions to add customized features, is easy for the site owner to add products and change prices and can also be used from static pages. This last feature allows for very customized presentation of your products.

Dansie

A simple system that has been continually updated since 1997, this shopping cart has many useful features for small businesses. It is straight-forward to set up, easy to change, can use almost any payment system, and even accepts soft and hard goods on the same order (an e-book and a set of video tapes, for example.)

In its simplest mode, product data is contained within hidden fields on the product's page. This allows for easy updates if you only have a few products. It can optionally access a MySQL database for product information if you prefer to set it up that way. Either way, it is a useful tool for the small business.

These are two different database-driven shopping cart systems that we have had experience using. If your current web site uses either of these systems, or one of the many similar cart systems, we can help you make the most of your current investment.

Blackboard

OK. This is not a shopping cart system, it is an online education and distance learning system. It is structured similar to one of the above database driven shopping carts. We used it for a little over a year and, well in the words of one educator who reviewed our work, "Beautiful site. I didn't know Blackboard could do those things."
