Web site design

Starting a web site from scratch? Give us a call. We'll do your site right the first time.

We will take your site from initial concept, help you work out what you want your site to be, create a look-and-feel based on your current logo or print materials, or come up with something all new. After you approve initial design concepts we will quickly code your site using standards-based CSS, create all images and add content. We can help you get a domain name and host, take your site live and create training videos so your staff knows how to take orders.

We normally work by the hour but can provide a fixed-bid if the work specifications are clear and won't change. Contract work is preferred. By having the right tools and experience we can typically do your work at a lower overall cost than what you are used to paying. Per hour costs are based on the length and size of the job. The clearer you are with what you want to accomplish, or a look you are after, and having your content in electronic format, will make the process go faster and help keep costs down.

Web site makeover / maintenance

Search engine optimization

Good search engine optimization goes hand in hand with good web site design. You need to know how to do both to really succeed. We haven taken sites from nowhere to front page and we can do the same for you. It takes time; hand submission and careful web site organization and code design; plus a good deal of knowledge and experience. Our first "search engine war" was in 1996 and our last was, well..., last week.

The importance of being on the first page of Google has become of great importance for businesses. "First page" means that when a user types in a search term your site comes up in the top ten on the list of results. Third page on Google means your business can be found by some, 2nd page... your sales will increase but with first page sales sky rocket.

We may also suggest you sign up for paid advertisement in the form of "sponsored keywords" using Google AdWords and Yahoo Overture. Chances are you found us that way. We can help in picking the right targeted keywords in such advertising and in tracking the results of each campaign.

e-Commerce solutions

Let's face it... the web is about making (or saving) money. Most sites offer to sell a product or service directly, usually with a pre-built shopping cart. Usability recommendations

Normally, an effective site is easy to use. (There are exceptions to every rule) As a new-comer to your site or industry we will see your site as a typical Internet user would. We can find where your site's usability breaks down and offer suggestions for improvements. If you like what you hear from us, we can even implement the recommended changes.

Email newsletter list management

A popular method of engaging your customers is with periodic newsletters. There are many ways of setting this up and we will help you navigate your way through all the possibilities. After we set it up we can train you how to use the system on your own and even provide you with training videos.

We can also supply an HTML template for you to use in sending out your newsletters. Check your current HTML template in HotMail. If it doesn't look quite right give us a call, we can fix it.

Training videos / product demos

After spending time walking clients through the use of their shopping cart (again and again :-) the need for training videos became obvious. They can be as simple as a screen capture video or as elaborate as your imagination. See sample: How to set up RDC video. (25 MB)

We can also use the same technology for product or site demos. Mixing video with Flash to limit size and add graphic elements we can create very useful online demos. See an early one we made for MAPI.com on the right. We have also created web site tours using QuickTime & JavaScript in unique ways and other web-based QuickTIme video presentations.
